Women in Horror Month’s Blood Drive Presents: Izzy Lee’s Short Film IT’S IN YOU

We’re always eager to share the work of independent genre artists, and since it also happens to be Women in Horror Month, we’re doubly proud to present the latest cinematic offering from multi-award-winning filmmaker, journalist and author Izzy Lee.

You may have already seen some of Lee’s short films on the festival circuit — including POSTPARTUM, INNSMOUTH, FOR A GOOD TIME, CALL… and RITES OF VENGEANCE — and she’s a regular contributor to multiple high-profile genre magazines and sites including Rue Morgue, Diabolique and Birth.Movies.Death. Her short stories have also been published in the fiction anthologies Wicked Witches, Hydrophobia and Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep.

But there’s more: Izzy’s latest short film IT’S IN YOU also happens to be her contribution to WiHM’s Annual Blood Drive campaign — making it the latest in her ever-growing list of socially-conscious genre projects. The short made its world premiere on the YouTube channel of horror’s famed “Twisted Twins,” Jen & Sylvia Soska (AMERICAN MARY, HELLEVATOR)… and you can also watch it right here:

“I’m participating in the annual PSA Blood Drive for Women in Horror Month because life can change at any moment,” Lee says in the film’s release announcement. “You never know when you’ll need a little help from a stranger.”

IT’S IN YOU may serve as a public service ad, but it’s also a fun horror parody on its own, with genre favorite Brea Grant (DEXTER, A GHOST STORY, DEAD AWAKE) confronting a befuddled vampire in a hilarious spin on bloodsucker tropes.

The short is also a preview of coming attractions — it’s derived from Lee’s upcoming feature-length project, currently titled MY MONSTER. You’ll be hearing news on that and more in the near future… so visit Izzy Lee’s official site and follow her on Facebook for the latest!
