Check Out These Behind-The-Scenes Pics From A New Doc On The Making of Stephen King’s IT!

It seems nowadays, getting feature length documentaries on some of our favorite classic horror films isn’t as uncommon as it used to be. And it’s a great thing! Because most of the filmmakers behind these kinds of retrospective docs are also die-hard fans, so who better to tackle them than those that care equally as much as their audiences?

Now, from the same filmmakers that brought us YOU’RE SO COOL, BREWSTER! THE STORY OF FRIGHT NIGHT! and UNEARTHED AND UNTOLD: THE PATH TO PET SEMATARY comes a brand new feature length doc that sets its sights on one of the most terrifying and indelible cinematic clowns in horror history.

That’s right. Pennywise the Dancing Clown from Tommy Lee Wallace’s 1990 TV mini-series adaptation of IT!

The film is called PENNYWISE: THE STORY OF IT, and it just completed a successful run on IndieGoGo, making its completion a sure thing! Here’s the original campaign trailer to introduce you to the gang behind it and their intentions for the documentary.

We spoke with writer and co-producer John Campopiano and he promises a lot of great, never before seen material in the final product. Just as a tease, we’ve been provided with a handful of behind-the-scenes photos from Bart Mixon, including this early alternate make-up test for Pennywise the clown!

Pretty darned cool, right?

With the campaign just ending, a release date for the finished doc is yet to be determined, but you can keep tabs on PENNYWISE: THE STORY OF IT via the films official Facebook page right here.
