“Today is a good day to die.”
That was the catch phrase of the original 1990 Joel Schumacher FLATLINERS, which at ripe age of 14, I loved and went to see several times in movie theaters. Now, a new updated remake is coming out from Sony Pictures and with director Niels Arden Oplev, the Danish filmmaker who made the original THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, at the helm. Here’s your first look at the trailer!
Well, that looks very much like the movie I have fond memories of as a kid, only updated! I’m definitely curious to see what new things they bring to the table. FLATLINERS stars Ellen Page and Diego Luna, and arrives in theaters September 29th. Be sure to read our interview with the original writer of FLATLINERS Peter Filardi right here.
Synopsis: In FLATLINERS, five medical students, obsessed by the mystery of what lies beyond the confines of life, embark on a daring and dangerous experiment: by stopping their hearts for short periods of time, each triggers a near-death experience – giving them a firsthand account of the afterlife. But as their experiments become increasingly dangerous, they are each haunted by the sins of their pasts, brought on by the paranormal consequences of trespassing to the other side.
