Zac Efron Will Portray Serial Killer Ted Bundy In EXTREMELY WICKED, SHOCKINGLY EVIL AND VILE!

Well, here’s a project I couldn’t have possibly predicted!

Ahead of the premiere of BAYWATCH, it has been announced that Zac Efron has signed on to play real life notorious serial killer Ted Bundy in the flick EXTREMELY WICKED, SHOCKINGLY EVIL AND VILE, from director Joe Berlinger.

Let that sink in for a minute. Because I kind of love it.

Joe Berlinger is the director of the PARADISE LOST trilogy, the Metallica documentary SOME KIND OF MONSTER, and the vastly underrated BOOK OF SHADOWS: BLAIR WITCH 2!

The script is written by Michael Werwie, which is based on the perspective of Bundy’s longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer, who ended up being the one to turn him in. Nicolas Chartier and Ara Keshishian are producing via Voltage along with Michael Costigan and Efron’s Ninjas Runnin’ Wild banner alongside Michael Simkin and Jason Barrett. Principal photography is set to begin Oct. 9.

This wouldn’t be the first time Bundy’s heinous crimes would be depicted in movie form. One of the most chilling versions would be the TV movie THE DELIBERATE STRANGER starring Mark Harmon. There’s also the 2002 movie by Matthew Bright simply titled TED BUNDY.
