TSA Agents Horrified by Traveling Corpse from TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2

If you’re well-versed on the infamous Sawyer clan from THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and its abundant cinematic offspring (sequels, prequels, side-quels, remakes, reboots, re-quels, or whatever they’re calling them now), then you know that the Sawyers definitely consider the Lone Star State their home.

But the fam does like to travel the country now and then, be it for business or pleasure (it’s hard to tell the difference with that particular bunch), and there’s a damn good reason they typically travel by road… preferably under cover of night. However, they decided to throw caution to the wind this week — much to the dismay of TSA agents at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

I’m sure the baggage inspectors have seen a lot of weird stuff passing through the security gates in their time… but they’re going to be talking about this one for years.

It seems they had to examine the full-size corpse prop affectionately known as “Nubbins,” later canonized in the franchise as “The Hitchhiker,” deceased brother of Bubba Sawyer (better known as Leatherface) and twin to “Chop-Top” Sawyer. Nubbins met a grisly fate at the end of the first CHAINSAW film, but returns in the sequel as a desiccated corpse, manipulated by his brothers as a hand puppet.

It was this very prop which TSA handlers managed to stuff into their x-ray scanner with the rest of the carry-on luggage, and they immortalized the moment via their Instagram account.

Nubbins was apparently headed home following a CHAINSAW 2 reunion at the Mad Monster Convention in Scottsdale, Arizona, where fans posed with him in a recreation of the film’s famous BREAKFAST CLUB parody poster shown above.

Nubbins’ handlers had actually purchased a seat ticket for him… but like the rest of us, he still had to suffer the indignity of being scanned, poked and prodded.
