We’ve given a lot of love and coverage to Hyaena Gallery here on Blumhouse.com. And rightfully so, as it’s one of the few places in the Los Angeles area that manages to capture all the things we love about the genre and encompasses them through art and visual expression.
Over the years, they’ve featured true crime artifacts, “dark art” from talents such as Gidget Gein (Marilyn Manson), Clint Carney (System Syn) & Jeremy Cross. They’ve also hosted several art tributes to some of the most well known & respected of the “Masters of Horror” including John Carpenter, Wes Craven, Guillermo del Toro and most recently Stuart Gordon. But April marks a very special landmark for the gallery.
Right now, Hyaena Gallery is celebrating their 10th year in existence over on 1927 W. Olive Avenue in Burbank, California. You can head over there anytime this month to catch an exhibit featuring contributions from their regular stable of outsider artists. There’s also a huge 10th anniversary party scheduled for this Friday, April 8th at the C.I.A. (the California Institute of Abnormalarts) located at 11334 Burbank Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91601. Special guests include performances by Gene Loves Jezebel, The Hellflowers and The Slow Poisoner. There will also be live art and art raffles, so come on down! Admission is $10 bucks!
