Holy smokes! Besides these 2 trailers, I know next to nothing about HARDCORE HENRY or the people involved with the making of this movie. But as you’re about to see, it immediately has shot up to the top of my must-see list for the year. It looks part-ROBOCOP, part-CRANK and full-on lunacy. Before we delve any further, check out the first theatrical trailer below:
Also, Tim Roth!
Although there have been plenty of “found footage” movies that have implemented some of these types of filmmaking tricks, we’ve never really seen a full-on first person perspective movie quite like this. MANIAC comes close, but this is a whole other level! And ahead of the movie’s SXSW premiere, a brand new trailer has just debuted this morning. Check that out:
HARDCORE HENRY will screen at SXSW this Sunday (3/13) at 9:30pm at The Paramount Theatre. It opens nationwide on April 8, 2016.
It’s the directorial debut by Ilya Naishuller and stars Sharlto Copley, Danila Kozlovsky, Haley Bennett, Andrey Dementyev, Dasha Charusha & Sveta Ustinova and comes to us from STX Entertainment. Timur Beckmambetov, the director of WANTED, ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER and NIGHTWATCH is the producer behind this wacky film.
What do you think? Excited for it too?
