I love that fact that Slayer, Megadeth and now Anthrax all have new albums out and they’re all awesome. Part of the fun of this resurgence from some of heavy metal’s most celebrated titans is seeing these new music videos surface. This isn’t the old days of MTV where you’d have to censor graphic material. With the way music videos are distributed these days, filmmakers have the freedom to really deliver visuals that truly compliment the song they’re showcasing.
“Blood Eagle Wings,” the first single off of ANTHRAX’s 11th LP (!) “For All Kings” debuted yesterday over on Rolling Stone’s website. Directed by Jack Bennett, the sprawling 8 minute epic is filled with enough torture and blood to make even the most seasoned of horror fans cringe. Regarding the song itself, Scott Ian told the publication, “I think it’s our masterpiece of a song. It’s the biggest, coolest thing we’ve ever written.” Take a look and listen for yourself!
You’ll recognize James Duval from DONNIE DARKO, INDEPENDENCE DAY & THE DOOM GENERATION front and center in the clip. And could it be…? I thought I saw John Humphrey, our own social media manager here on Blumhouse.com among the many torture victims! Sly devil!
ANTHRAX will be touring in support of their latest album “For All Kings.” Keep your eyes on their touring page for details on when they’ll be playing near you!
