Remember When The CRYPTKEEPER Made A Christmas Album?

“Deck The Hall With Parts Of Charlie, fa la la la la, la la la la….”

Oh sorry. Just getting in the holiday spirit the way I do every year. By listening to “Have Yourself A Scary Little Christmas,” the perfectly punned holiday tribute album from TALES FROM THE CRYPT‘s the Cryptkeeper!

Back in 1994, around the time of HBO’s 6th season of their hit series, “The Right Stuff,” a subsidiary of Capitol Records put out this holiday themed album with John Kassir yet again voicing The Cryptkeeper and performing a handful of holiday classics. But with that TALES twist of course!

Titles included “We Wish You’d Bury The Missus,” “T’was The Fright Before Christmas” and even the “Christmas Rap.” As a horror fan, it’s hard not to fall in love with this irresistible novelty item. Have a look at the back of the CD:

The original CD release came with a collectible reprint of the infamous TALES FROM THE CRYPT comic story “And All Through The House,” adapted into live action for both the 1972 movie and an episode of the first season of the show helmed by Robert Zemekis! But it has long since been out of print and is a bit tough to track down these days. You can find used copies of it over on Amazon, or perhaps it’s worth checking your local record store. But ’tis the season, so if you want a sample of the album, you can listen to it below via You Tube. Til next year, have yourself a scary little Christmas!
