Ken Hanley, Managing Editor of Fangoria.com, is about to release his monumental new book THE I IN EVIL: ACCEPTING AND EMBRACING THE MONSTER YOU ARE – a kind of self-help guide for the monsters we all know and love. Hanley graciously offered us a first peek at one of the book’s new promotional posters – featuring artwork by Joe Oliver of Laser Party – which we’re stoked to share with you:
With chapter illustrations by former DC and Marvel Comics artist Adam Wallenta (samples of which are shown below), the book is dedicated to “uplifting the spirits and changing the lives of monsters across this great nation of ours.” It’s received high praise across the horror universe, including accolades from Vincenzo Natali (CUBE, SPLICE, NBC’s HANNIBAL), Tom Holland (FRIGHT NIGHT, CHILD’S PLAY), Troma President Lloyd Kaufman and actor-filmmaker Larry Fessenden (HABIT, WE ARE STILL HERE).
Hanley’s monster masterwork (or is that master monsterwork?) will enable “Vampires, Mummies, Wolfmen, Gill-men and Monsters… to step out of the shadows after reading THE I IN EVIL and be the social, conscientious citizens without the psycho-and-sociological issues that plague mankind every day.”
Note that Hanley and his publisher, Skyhorse, warned us that the book is intended for monsters, and may not be safe for human consumption. To this end, they issue the following disclaimer: “This book contains dark, terrifying truths and the author relinquishes any and all responsibility for any actions taken against monsters or themselves as a result of this book.”
THE I IN EVIL hits bookstores on October 20th, and you can pre-order the hardcover edition on Amazon right now.
